Basic principles of the Fallen
hispers of the Fallen is a tighly-knit community of like-minded individuals who serve a purpose greater than themselves by virtue of their patience, kindness, and vision. The four virtues we most revere are Selflessness, Integrity, Wisdom, and Valor. These principles form the Code that guides our behavior and interactions with others and is held sacred by all members.
The following is our interpretation of each principle.
Members uphold a devotion to the needs and interests of the family above those of their own. By serving the greater good of the guild, we create and nurture an entity that is far greater than the mere sum of its parts. We do not endevor for profit or petty rewards; our actions are motivated by a feeling of oneness.
“Wisdom ceases to be wisdom when it becomes too proud to weep, too grave to laugh, and too selfish to seek other than itself.”
- Khalil Gibran
Each member of the Fallen holds him/herself personally accountable for everything he or she does. All members carry themselves and treat all others with a high degree of respect and consideration at all times. Our members are courteous and fair in their dealings with others, and everyone is expected to represent us and lead by this example.
“If it is not right, do not do it.
If it is not true, do not say it.”
- Marcus Aurelius
We see wisdom as the ability to discern what is true or righteous and the insight to learn from those around us. Fallen members are expected to always use sound judgement and critical thinking before making any major decisions. Our members are also expected to be resourceful enough to acquire both knowledge and resources as needed without causing a drain on the rest of the guild.
“The beginning of wisdom is found in doubting; by doubting we come to the question, and by seeking we may come upon the truth.”
- Pierre Abélard
Battles are won though courage and boldness; none are ever brought to victory through cowardice or inaction. These battles may take many forms, but members know to always show courage in deed and in dignity. The Fallen are not merely guardians to their trusted comrades; they are true stewards to anyone in need.
“Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul.”
- Michel Eyquem de Montaigne
long with the basic principles above, all of our members adhere to the following additional Code of Ethics:
- Act to benefit others. Your actions should benefit others if at all possible. Seek opportunities to assist those in need.
- Promote justice. Be fair and just to all members. Abide by our Code; lead by example.
- Respect autonomy. Allow people to make their own choices unless they conflict or harm the greater good of all members.
- Be faithful. Be loyal and reliable to your guildmates. Follow through on all commitments and promises that you have made.
- Do no harm. Express no ill will or animosity toward others.
