I know it appears that our raiding teams have become ghost towns in recent weeks, and several members have expressed concerns about the status and future of our raiding effort. I wanted to provide my perspective and offer some reassurance to everyone.
In the four-plus years of this great guild's existence there has been much growth and prosperity, along with the usual tribulations and attrition. Our membership once peaked at well over 250, and it has sustained with as few as a couple dozen. At times we've pushed the raiding envelope with rag-tag teams of "casuals;" at other periods, we've gently drifted along in no big hurry. Indeed, this family has experienced pretty much the entire gamut of what it is to be a guild.
As we all patiently anticipate the next exciting expansion, it would appear that a confluence of factors have introduced a predictable "ebb" in our raiding momentum. Some of our raiders have started or restarted school or new jobs; some may have needed a break from raiding; some have even needed a break from the game itself. In my experience, while the timing of these dry spells may not always be clockwork, they do come sooner or later. And, as past experience teaches, I anticipate the inevitable "flow" of enthusiasm and guild solitarity that is perched upon the horizon.
Whether the tides shift prior to -- or along with -- the expansion, I greatly look forward to all of the fun and fulfillment that comes with spending time with all of you. I know from experience that, when the Fallen rise, it is always truly a sight to behold.
Please contact me (in public or private) with any questions or concerns.
Thanks everybody! _________________ "I'm sorry, no cake, your gonads are insufficient." ~Fleur
Well said, well said! (I even got a few goose bumps, you know with the whole "when the fallen rise"... <----I'm such a dork!)
I can totally understand needing a break. My 3 month break from the game did us well.
With that being said...I MISS YOU GUYS! And I will mourn the fun progression we were having to the awesome "King Slayer" title....cause you know a little tiny gnome just NEEDs that at the end of her name...hehe
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their summer! Can't wait for the new expansion and to be with you guys from the beginning of the journey this time!
While I haven't been in game as much as usual lately (damn work schedule grumble grumble...), I can say that my time spent in WoW recently has been spent very well in the Cataclysm beta, offering feedback and reporting bugs to make the game's launch as awesome as possible.
I have a strong feeling that a lot of people are going to be 'meh' about WoW until Cata comes out, at which point it's pretty much guaranteed most people will come back in full force. _________________ "Meg's mom went to the Dominican Republic last year. Does that count?" - Meg

Yeah for me it's my summer internship, workin anywhere from 40-60 hour weeks makes it harder to get online. I guarantee I'll be back on once I get back up to school though! (Cataclysm or not)
I believe I only have another month of play-time left before classes start again and I re-assess my time commitments. I doubt I'll be on in the fall, but will do my usual christmas/holiday month in the winter. Also, recently I've had things come up on Wednesdays that prevent me from raiding. I've been leveling alts (since nothing wants to drop for my mains) and revisiting some rep content for extra cash.
My internet is made of utter FAIL this summer and I can hardly ever get it to work fast enough to do much of anything on WoW. Stupid camp. It used to be okay here, so I'm not sure why it's so awful this summer. It could be because more people are utilizing it for things like downloading or streaming tv, or my brother's here ALSO attempting to play mmorpgs. XD
Anyway, because of the forced break from WoW I'm apparently taken, I have no doubt that once I move into my new house (WOO INDEPENDENT LIVING) and prepare for school to start in the fall, I'll be back and I'm definitely looking forward to Cataclysm. I'm sorry to vanish so randomly, but you said it best, Cart, and I haven't been too concerned because I know this guild will always come back to flourish after any lulls in activity or participation because it wouldn't have kept on so strongly for this long if not.
That said, I miss talking to all my guildies a whole hell of a lot, and if you see me on AIM or Gmail chat, please feel free to ping me because the computer DOES allow for that. XD <3 <3 _________________ "Don't mock my vocabulary at this hour."

Arv, when you're living on your own, is your dad still going to set a timer for when you can use the internetz?? I think we spent more time trying to get around it then actually playing haha.
